South Adriatic is a region located on the southern Croatian territory and includes hundreds of Croatian islands and mountains Velebit, Biokovo and St Ilija on the peninsula Peljesac. It is an area where the climate is a little bit warmer than at the northern Adriatic. Especially popular are the islands of Solta, Brac, Hvar and Vis. The cities of Split and Dubrovnik are certainly special highlights of the southern Adriatic. Both have ancient buildings belonging to the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Split is also a major transport hub of the whole region and from this point it is easy to get to all islands of the southern Adriatic. The ACI marina Split is one of the best marinas in Croatia. Close by is also the brand new Marina Kastela and the international airport of Split/Kastela.
