Besides the stone, the sea is the most distinctive image of Dalmatia, the Sibenik region - central Adriatic is the best example for this. Yet already in the pictures, the Kornati astonish people and take their breath away, not to mention once they experience them up close. While water rules in Kornati, land is somewhat different. There, the stone predominates probably to make the river Krka - which struggles through the landscape of stone, look more astonishing and beautiful. Its waterfalls make it one of the most beautiful rivers. In this place we have to mention the town Sibenik, a town of the Croatian King Kresimir, who ruled in it 900 years ago. Sibenik will delight you with its old town center. In the core of the city is a priceless monument kept - the cathedral, which is under UNESCO protection as a very valuable work of renaissance art and the Dalmatian architects, the most famous among them is Juraj Dalmatinac.
